#57301 RE: tiffer #57300

Walgreens filing the answer to the complaint will provide legal argument for why no one else will settle.

That isn't going to help MMRF

And while the issues are being litgated, won't be much incentive for ANYONE else to settle because

a) MMRF will already be entagled in multi party litigation

b) no need to settle until the validity of the patents are tested

c) litigation will starve MMRF for cash, drain resources, and impair it's ability to raise funds in the equity markets. Walgreens PRing their defenses being a major impediment to selling stock as Walgreens has more "ink" than MMRF.

Patent lawsuits are complex litigation and don't move fast at all. Patent trolls have greater burden as they are seen as a drag on the productive economy.

No one is in a hurry to settle with a patent troll just as no one is in a hurry to buy an expensive cloud based product from a company that has never turned a profit and is involved in several complex multi party laawsuits that could easily bankrupt it. MMRF does not have the scale to support any customer the size of Walgreens.

The financial health of the vendor being of paramount importance when it comes to medical records.
