IMHO, when any offer is on the table, it would be wise to announce just that, WITHOUT any price mentioned. It would surely spike the PPS up. They need to generate a bidding war between a number of companies and not just take the first offer.

If they play their cards right, and to the benefit of all the shareholders, the PPS can possibly be selling at over and above the actual aquisition offer, before acceptance.

I mean, isn't this what we would all love too see.

You are correct. There is definitely no pump and no dump. PUMPS will take stocks from trading little or no volume to millions of shares a day overnight for a few days then go right back to no volume. VPLM has been steady averaging about a million shares a day. It does seem obvious that MM's are trying to keep it down because the VAST majority of sales are buys (on the ask). A small trade hits the bid and they knock it down. If the company were behind it as has been alleged they would want that price up as high as possible.
