You should look up Apple, Inc's patents. The company gets them, but regardless of who came up with the technology, Steve Jobs always got the credit on their patents. It might give you a better idea of just how patents work in the first place.

Maybe he builds them elsewhere off site where its more convienent for the customer? Didn't they mention it was being built in another state on STT radio? I believe so.
