Nice to hear of someone from Canada talk about a subject that is mear and dear to almost everyone.. We are talking about healthcare, and to someone like myself, its the latest issue on the road to civilization in the 21st century.

When I left Lake George back in 1987, we had many Canadian tourist who would come down each summer on vacation. I had just gone through the birth of my two children, I didn't have health insurance, and the hospitol and I went many rounds when it came to paying the bill. When my second child was born, they wouldn't release her until the bill was paid infull, and the check had cleared the bank.

That was a real an eye opener, it was only $ 4000. quite reasonable in todays standards, but to me, it was a small fortune, and thats before the forumla, diapers, and doctor visits set in.

I only wish that more Candians would speak up in this forum and remind people that any system is not perfect, but when a life is reduced to dollars and cents, I take exception. Especially nowadays, when the cost can exceed $ 100,000 in a matter of days. I am not rich, far from it, but I sure like being able to get a medical issue addressed.
