Cocaine In Fake Butt: Man Arrested In Brazil For Allegedly Trying To Smuggle Drugs In Prosthetic Rump

Now that's some booty.

A man dressed as a woman was arrested at an airport in southern Brazil [ http://www.worldcrunch.com/culture-society/brazilian-transvestite-busted-for-smuggling-cocaine-in-fake-big-butt/drug-smuggling-traffic-cocaine-sao-paulo/c3s11245/ ] last week for allegedly trying to smuggle cocaine in a fake butt, Worldcrunch reports, translating local media coverage.

According to a HuffPost translation of Globo, the man was attempting to fly from Campinas, Brazil to Lisbon, Portugal [ http://g1.globo.com/sp/campinas-regiao/noticia/2013/03/travesti-tenta-embarcar-com-cocaina-nas-nadegas-e-e-preso-em-viracopos.html ], and then on to Brussels. Once he landed in Belgium, he was to receive the equivalent of about $5,000 for delivery.

But while he was waiting for his flight to Europe, authorities approached him and found two bags of cocaine hidden in his underwear [ http://www1.folha.uol.com.br/cotidiano/1249351-travesti-e-preso-com-cocaina-nas-nadegas-no-aeroporto-de-viracopos.shtml ], forming a prosthetic derrière, Folha de S.Paulo reports.

"They gave him a mobile phone so he could contact the person who would receive the narcotics once he got to his destination," officer Gilberto Salles Souza Junior told Globo, according to a HuffPost translation.

Smuggling operations similar to this have backfired in the past. In December 2011, a model, who had just arrived in Rome from Brazil, was arrested after authorities found 5.5 pounds of cocaine hidden in fake breast and buttock implants [ http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2077477/Model-held-police-Rome-airport-250k-cocaine-hidden-inside-fake-breast-implants.html ], The Daily Mail reported at the time.

About a year later, a 20-year-old woman was taken to a hospital after she told authorities at a Barcelona airport that her chest was bleeding because she'd recently undergone plastic surgery [ http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-20705742 ] and the wounds hadn't healed, according to the BBC. Several bags of cocaine -- valued at about $78,000 -- were removed from the woman.
