The problem is that the conservatives think the wealthy are the job creators and that is laughable. The real job creators are the mass of individuals who buy things and help drive up demand. Of course the conservatives think if you own a business and hire people you have created a job - but the business owner adds a job at the very last resort to meet demand. If not then with record profits these companies would be hiring left and right and they are not.

Of course they don't like people who are at the lower end of the pay scale as for many conservatives they think they are wealthy or are on SS or some other pension and think others should suffer to salve their insecurities. Of course we could increase the minimum wage and I'd love to double it and then see the hiring take place. Look at all the hell holes that have low minimum wages and who would want to live there other than sadists.

DesertDrifter -- have never stopped by the (new) QuikTrip in my neighborhood -- it will now be the only such establishment I visit for the occasional little this, that or the other (though I'll be sticking with my local Conoco for the tried-and-true 93 octane I put in my car)
