#37110 RE: Switch Flip #37107

Haven't had time to read the bill, so apologies...can't weigh in.

If anyone else finds something that is applicable to MWIP, would love read!

it doesn't say anything about pos specifically. however, with the need to track sales and patient registration cards MWIP will be an efficient system for dispensaries to use to stay within compliance.

also, and im not sure on this, but it seems like MWIP wants to eventually be able to track and store patient info on cards so that patients can access their info all the time, this is the HIPAA compliant systems part. the bill outlines that it is very important to track sales to each card holder and track sales of each dispensary. in order to track these most efficiently, i think, would be to have a digital, comprehensive system to limit sales to individuals. if MWIP could issue its own medical cards with all the patient's info on it, plus all sales, it would allow for an easy tracking of all sales and buys, which could be compared to dispensary revenues. this is very important for a) taxation and b) criminal activity. idk how this will all work out, but MWIP's approach would be a lot easier than having a huge mmj squad trying to enforce this bill and save states a lot of money on enforcement.

the main part of this bill is about tracking sales, and that is MWIP's business and MWIP fits right in the niche of this bill. idk what will happen or how it will happen, if the gov't will contract out the work or if it will be a free for all. but either way, i think MWIP is primed to respond to the needs of the industry. if the dispensaries are left to their own devices, its either get with a company like MWIP to track your transactions, or go through a whole lot of trouble meeting compliance yourself, paying for all those man hours and the sale goes for the govt on enforcement. MWIP is the most cost efficient answer for both imo.
