A commitment letter is not uncommon in the energy sector.The document is quite official and most of the time there is a non-disclosure agreement that goes with it.

I typed the phrase " commitment letter definition " into the Bing search engine, and here are the first six answers:

It is obvious from these explanations that a "commitment letter" is much different from a "loan pre-approval".
When the mention of these loans first appeared in the 10Q, they were refered to as pre-approved which doesn't
mean a heck of a lot (Google"loan pre-approval" and see for yourselves). However, in the PR of Feb.7, Volk refered
to receiving "a commitment letter for an $8.5 million term loan from Ventana Group LLC." This is a material difference between the 10Q and the PR of 2/7!

IMO the money is ours and should end up in our bank account soon!!
