I do not know the rulings in the U S A but I do in Canada. If Abbott takes a retainer he probably won't get treated as an insider but it still precludes him from writing a report that will be used in a financing submission submitted to the S E C. His internal reports will be allowed but if they in turn go into public news releases he will always be required to add a Disclaimer and report his share position. This of course lessens their CLOUT !!
