It wasn't my Fault!!!

That is what I took away from the hearings.

Accountability to the owners was hidden, also to the regulators and to the business counter parties.
The measurement of risk undertaken was rewarded even when these folks failed.... sound familiar.

Corporate governance needs an overhaul IMHO with a Clawback provision when its Managers lose Investors assets and then bail-out with a golden parachute.
