I would suspect EMI's ceo would not have said much without getting it straight from AAPL. Since EMI commented on the iTunes pricing structure and the iPod DRM issue....?

?? If I were ceo of EMI, I'd question AAPL about forward looking statement from MVSN. EMI had a very good quarter...the ceo was impressive....but the CNBC guys didn't give him much time.

It is is my belief as well that the word came from MVSN, whether contrived or not! Emi would have no first hand knowledge of any technological break throughs without MVSNs release of that info.
Now let us remember MVSN has claimed a lot of things which turned out to be far differrent than what they said.
Wharever the case they have egg on their face!

"The information EMI provided regarding itunes and ipod compatibility with Macrovision's technology is not true and we have no idea why EMI made this statement". Apple said in a statement.
I would estimate that in terms of the "compatibility" statement in regards to Macrovision and ipod/itunes, that it would logically have come from Macrovision.
