Well, that's not exactly accurate considering Google developed Android. As far as I'm aware, most people bought Google phones with the assumption that their hardware would better take advantage of their OS and provide a real threat to Apple.

I really don't see any thing other than a gimmick in making a FB phone. Maybe I just don't "get" it. After all, I don't really use FB anyway.

Before anyone says anything about my inclination towards technology, new things, etc. - I'm a systems and network administrator and software developer by hobby and profession. I'm all about new technologies and gadgets but FB, to me, is really nothing more than a glorified myspace which I didn't find impressive in its hay-day, either. In other words, FB (or social networking in general) just isn't my thing.

I was imagining like a modified OS where all the Facebook functionality was hardware accelerated, your friends pictures/status/activity were embedded in your contact list, and notifications and messaging would be better. Not this. This a joke.

Haha so you are comparing Android pre-installed with Facebook and Instagram to Android the operating system itself? How interesting. And how far off.

Google actually makes the operating system that runs on its phone - Facebook does not. lol so far off.
