This is a great idea and I can see this being picked up by many cities in the immediate future - especially those that have trouble with vandalism and crime, who have had trouble with afterhours drop boxes/lost payments. In areas like Lynwood, they "fixed" the drop box problem by allowing people to pay after hours through the front door. But after hours means no one is around and its night time in the winter - and no one wants to be getting out of their car alone at night there to drop off a payment. (fyi, for those who don't know where Lynwood is, it's right next door to the infamous "Compton" CA in rap songs).
Either way, there are many of us that get busy and forget to pay utilities, but even online they make you register and pay fees. I know I would rather just walk up to a kiosk and pay it. That would be awesome.
