Daboss, at least apple guarantees the iPod for a full year. e.Dig only does 180 days, if they are even around that long.

DABOSS... excuse me, what conclusion?
The O-1000 may be an iPod killer because of it's great engineering but it won't kill anything if they aren't available. All I stated was an article that said Apple sold at least 125,000 iPods by last July and it helped turn Apple around. Obviously they are making a profit on it. Which is what you asked in the first place. How many O-1000's has EDIG sold?

FWIW, AAPL net sales for 2002 were $5,742,000,000. Of that figure, $1,208,000,000 came from software, service, etc, and the remaining $4,534,000,000 came from hardware sales. Net sales for the iPod amounted to $143,000,000, or less than 3.2% of net hardware sales and less than 2.5% of net overall sales. Hardly a pivotal factor, IMHO.
