limtex-- I hope you are correct. It would be a nice assist to the US & UK economies if they stopped aid to France, Germany, Turkey, & etc. France & Germany are on the brink of a fall & Turkey is near collapse. Why should we now care if the Turkish Kurds wish to become independent? The 56000 US servicemen buried in France may rest easier knowing there is no longer any support for those that required liberation by the US TWICE! Those bux could go into the economy here or be used to reduce the deficit later.
Couldn't disagree more here. In fact, posts like these are why most people around the world believe the US has an unparalleled arrogance. We will most likely have a quick victory as most expect but our economy will continue to pay the price for being the world's bully (and so will the market). More countries will continue to despise us as we wreak havoc wherever we please. We better find a couple pounds of Anthrax or something while we're over there because if we just go in and annihilate Iraq without improving the case for "why we went in" our position throughout the world will get worse.
