when Apple can't come up with anything good organically and they have to make an acquisition, that's when you know the party is over, they already implemented a dividend, which is good and bad, but many times for a tech company a dividend is a sign that growth is slowing...that's exactly why the top management of Apple are hoarding cash because they have been in the tech business for years and many with Apple during the hard times and know that in order to survive in the tech world you have to continue to innovate, and when you run out of ideas, acquire growth through M&A...

smart move for Apple in my opinion to hoard cash...all you gotta do is look at RIMM/BBRY, Nokia,etc and you see what happens when the part is over...

IBM would be in the same boat if they had stayed in the PC Business, I was talking to an IBM recruiter at an engineering job fair a few weeks ago actually about how IBM's smartest move was to get into consulting/IT...isn't Dell trying to go private now?lol
