If they can translate this technology efficiently to the clinic then no, not bloated. Very versatile tool, and if established, rather easy to generate follow on candidates for new indications.

But it has a similar MC to ARRY, no? Is ARRY bloated? I think PPHM is severely bloated despite having a much smaller MC. I don't think INCY is bloated despite having a MC 4-5x ARRY and SGMO.

If you're saying you don't think SGMO has really proven anything in the clinic yet, then I don't think a comparison to ARRY makes much sense as I certainly think ARRY already has clinical PoC across several programs. (I agree with you on both PPHM and INCY.)

I'm more and more convinced that much of the stock market, and biotech especially, is just boys being boys and picking a favourite team based on various stats (MC, # drugs in development).

You are discrediting shared vision between investor and management.

The technicians have no clue and those that rely solely on stats will always be at the mercy of group-think in the present moment.

Just an FYI.

The recent run up for SGMO is in anticipation of data to be released at CROI next week. This is the fourth year in a row that CROI has given the company a presentation spot...and in fact they have two this year.

While I understood the skepticism for the company based on using ZN-fingers to treat diabetic neuropathy, the approach for directed editing of human cells does not warrant the same. You should look at their ASH presentation on hemophilia to understand the potential in monogenic diseases and then the presentations on the HIV product to understand the potential in that disease.

PGS,

How does knowledge grow in the non-hard sciences?
