Warren, it wouldn't hurt my feelings if they hired a seasoned CEO - with that said, I'm sure Dr Chan is a very intelligent individual, but it takes someone who understands big picture of running an emerging public company to grow it...not just act like a doctor, collect your salary from venture capital each year, and wait for dosing results to say "Hey surprise everyone, its finally here, we're off and running".
Let him act in a passive capacity and reap the reward of his hard work as a shareholder and director
...and no I'm not saying release shallow PRs to appease the typical penny investors, but educate them on what is in the near term(weeks or 3 months) and on the long term horizon(1 year plus)
just some thoughts...
