Yes, that's pretty much what I'm saying. What if Jota isn't the Optimal Property? Bedrooms too small, lousy views, uncertain hot water, Sasquatch intruding at inopportune moments?

Wouldn't that make MDMN look undesirable?

With all due respect, I don't think MDMN will be mentioned once during any of the 6 episodes. Sure JJ will be featured (he was in the teaser so I assume he will have some role) but I can't see him talking extensively about MDMN. For one, the viewers at home don't want to hear about the company behind the property, all they care about is Todd and his crew getting gold. Second, MDMN only owns a 20% interest; I'd assume the folks who own 80% get the lions share of the time if they get any at all. It is TV, not an infomercial for MDMN. The viewers want drama not a PowerPoint presentation from a pink sheet mining company. Maybe JJ will wear a MDMN sweatshirt one day but given his penchant for stylish jackets and fedoras, I find it highly unlikely. The only way the viewers will find out about MDMN is to google JJ Quijano and actually do some research. My guess is that the audience who watches Gold Rush won't do that. Remember, Todd prospected in 3 countries so the 6 episodes will need to cover all of them. I'd say you might get lucky if Jota was featured in 2 episodes but that is assuming he only went to one property in each country. There are lots of details we don't know but Discovery kept it that way...so we would all watch. Ratings not PowerPoint remember.
