It was at one of the conferences where he was discussing the crossbar and the memory controller. He mentioned that they already included a port for a second core, but weren't going to use it at 130nm, 90nm would be the earliest. Which makes sense, if they are launching in 2003 and 90nm debuts in 2004, there isn't any real reason to do it on 130nm.
