Equipment may have been working just fine. However, no gold in = no gold out, and they should have known that before buying equipment and running it for two months.
Somebody appeared to have known this was coming, and posted a comment about "cashing out and going on vacation" yesterday. Either lucky timing, very clever, or had some special insight.
