I do no really know, I do know that parts are made all over the world for almost anything that is made anymore. But I will look into it. I do know that there are a few stamping facilities that have set up shop near Enterprise South, and that there other parts suppliers in Alabama and Georgia.

It was just encouraging to hear on the news this evening that they are going ahead with the roads, pipes, and all of the preparation work necessary for building another assembly plant.

Most of us did not believe we were getting this assembly plant in the first place, but now that it has become real, I am just pleased to see it expand. There are help wanted signs all over Enterprise South for various positions.

Volkswagon isn't the only employer in this complex, and as I told my children along time ago, if you build it they will come.

These are good paying positions, maybe some entry level only pay $ 12.50 to start, but many of us know a few people who work at Volkswagon. They make $ 50-60,000 a year, respectable employment, and a generous benefit package, but not as good as my daughter and her husband are doing out in Portland, Oregon. Between the two of them they are making $ 150,000 a year, but the cost of living is more expensive out there.

I just like seeing activity, and economic growth. So much more enjoyable to hear about good jobs, then listening to some who just want to remember what America went through when Republicans were in charge of the economy.

It has nothing to do with being liberal, it has to do with the quality of life that comes from having a good paying job. Even my son with just a high school education is back making $ 45,000 a year, not a great sum of money, but he can pay his bills and support his children.

Now we just need the economy to continue to grow, and that happens slowly, but a slow growing economy is always better than an economy with too many ups and downs.
