#33106 RE: Tinroad #33095

Tinroad, the e.Digtial directory tree is in no way "a more sophisticated direction" as opposed to the browsing/search functions offered by iPod and Zen. The Odyssey is really simplistic in comparison, you can only manually look around in 2nd-level directories for tracks. It's not just an opinion, the ID3 support on iPod and Zen gives them significantly more advanced browsing and search functions. Howevever I agree with you that being different can be a good thing, and as I said before the directory-based navigation may appeal to some people. ID3 tag information is sometimes wrong on downloaded tracks but there's a million programs that you can use to change the ID3 tag fields to whatever you want. If you have all your tracks organized by file name you can use a program like "ID3 Tag Studio v.3" to covert all the filename fields to ID3 tag data in each file. If you rip a CD yourself, the program (like Audiocatalyst) usually gets ID3 data from CDDB.com so it's done automatically.
