EP, #4 - binsplits are bad. I guess AMD may produce as many as want of 1.6 Ghz Athlons 64, but they are slower than Bartons, so makes no sense to sell them. They somehow managed to make 1.8 Ghz Opterons, but I beleive the volume is so small they just cherry pick the front tail of Poisson.

Seems to me we're going to be in the dark on this until well through the summer. I think the first sign of volume September availability for A64 will be especially large price cuts for Barton through the summer back-to-school season. If we see these it will be just like the sales at Radio Shack -- means something much better is coming. Of course, AMD has to avoid the Osborn effect, thus the hyper-secrecy about it all.
