There is a time and a season for all things. I'm not a short term market timer, but I do look for long term market buying opportunities. I saw that opportunity on gold in 2000 and began buying PM shares when it was trading at $250 and the mining shares were selling for virtually nothing. It happened again in 2008 and I bought heavily then as well. I used to buy options and I lost a lot of money. I found that the prices of some good quality mining shares were selling at option prices and there is no expiration date. I still like the leverage you get from options, but I use warrants now with long expiration dates to get leverage. The PMs are in a bull market, but that will not last forever and I look for the next wave to ride...perhaps energy or biotech..but that's some years off IMO. I can sleep well even when I see prices moving lower because I think the big picture points to much higher prices. I welcome lower prices at this stage of the game.
