Kyle Bass Tells 'Nominal' Stock Market Cheerleaders: Remember Zimbabwe
Amid the euphoria of today's crossing of the Dow's Maginot Line at 14,000, Kyle Bass provided a few minutes of sanity this morning in an interview with CNBC's Gary Kaminsky. Bass starts by reflecting on the ongoing (and escalating) money-printing (or balance sheet expansion as we noted here) as the driver of stock movements currently and would not be surprised to see them move higher still (given the ongoing printing expected). However, he caveats that nominally bullish statement with a critical point, "Zimbabwe's stock market was the best performer this decade - but your entire portfolio now buys you 3 eggs" as purchasing power is crushed. Investors, he says, are "too focused on nominal prices" as the rate of growth of the monetary base is destroying true wealth. Bass is convinced that cost-push inflation is coming (as the velocity of money will move once psychology shifts) and investors must not take their eye off the insidious nature of underlying inflation - no matter what we are told by the government (as they will always lie when its critical). Own 'productive assets', finance them at low fixed rates (thank you Ben), and finally, on HLF, don't bet against Dan Loeb.

Seriously. The FED is flooding the system with a MINIMUM of 85 BILLION a MONTH, and you think the stock market breaking 14K is evidence that things are getting better in the economy? Dude. Learn to read, and use that ability to study some economics. Stop listening to the political talking heads on MSNBC who are paid to screw with your mind and keep you grazing like a sheep.

Looking at the 3 previous responses to your post explains why the GOP is in a world of hurt - neocon/teabaggers are the voice of the GOP, but that's about to change...
TOP G.O.P. DONORS SEEK GREATER SAY IN SENATE RACES
-NY Times, 02/03/13

Normal Repub pols have had just about enough of the neocon/teabagger influence in losing major elections, including the WH, cycle after cycle and are gearing up to oust extreme Repub pols - Iowa's Congressman Steve King (R) will be their first target...King has designs on the Senate seat Tom Harkin (D) will vacate in 2014 but a group formed by Karl Rove of American Crossroads fame, The Conservative Victory Project, intends to counter extreme Repub pols that have ousted normal Repub candidates and they plan to recruit seasoned reasonable Repub candidates.

It's interesting to watch the GOP eat it's own...in 2010 the GOP could not cater enough to the neocons/teabaggers - now they're reaping what they sowed.
