How would "evil shorters" create panic in ARR? Would they point out the large numbers of mREITs that failed a few years ago? Would they mention the falling divs? Those seem like facts any ARR investor wants to know, especially a retiree.

You didn't answer my question about ARR short positions, so I looked up the answer: It's pretty small at 1.3 . CIM has even less. NLY has 2.90

You pointed it out. Who is going to short a stock when it costs you 13% just to maintain the position?

Short interest is showing as 2.42% of the float as of Jan. 15th.
