Elmer, try again -

One of the highlights was the announcement of the Athlon 64 for September 2003 in conjunction with the desktop platform. This means that the 64-bit Athlon (Claw Hammer) definitely won't be available until Christmas at the earliest.

You know better than that.

Ship in September means end user product for the holiday season, Thanksgiving onwards. Always meant that. Always will. In order to have end user product in September, they have to be shipping in July. <yawn>

" Athlon64 delayed until Christmas?" is not at the top of the linked page. I can only assume these are your words. Why shouldn't we assume you intended to spread FUD?

A blast from the past

http://www.tomshardware.com/business/20030314/cebit2003_2-03.html

I was talking about IHUB today and got to looking at my old messagages. This is one of the first few I replied to.

Elmer said I was being Anal and he was probably right. I've since learned to take it a little easier around the crowd that dwells here.

My question is not about my writing style or Elmer's writing style but about about Tom's statement that Athlon 64 would be delayed until Christmas. Given that Christmas is here as far as I'm concerned, how does the spin/accuracy of Tom's report hold up? When was Athlon 64 released? Do you give extra credit for the fact that the clawhammer design still isn't out (they changed the Athlon 64 release to a 1 MB cache instead of 256k so you could say that he was right on that technicality alone).
