#109847 RE: jbainseky #109836

Any rationale why all the censored patients are at the end of the plot as compared to the BAVI trial where they were spread throughout?

The censors to the right of some point on the plot are generally due to patients still being alive at that time, but that is when the data was collected so their status to the right is unknown.

Example. Let us say a trial starts enrollment at 1/1/11 and completes enrollment at 1/1/12 and the data is collected 1/1/13. We could produce a plot out to 2 years. But once we get past one year, there are patients who have not been in the trial for the full 2 years. If a patient who enrolled 1/1/12 was still alive, they would be on the chart "alive" at 12 months, but not on it at all in month 13. That is a censor in month 13. These will always be towards the right once enrollment has been complete for a while.

Most censors for OS are for exactly this reason, and simply are a sign of the data still maturing. They will "fill in" over time.

In the Bavi 2nd Line NCSLC most of the censors were exactly this. There were about 8-9 though that were in the first few months (on the left of the plot) that did raise the questions. Some were also concerned about those in months 6-7 o so, but I would give them a pass on that 'till the data matures as a couple months delay in an EEU trial might not be unreasonable. Hopefully they will publish the new curve soon and the points will fill in some.
