Montecito is a relatively well-defined entity, supposedly quite far along in development,whereas as K10 is a total unknown. Very different situations.

Montecito is part of the Itanium family. The discussion was about how Intel has a roadmap and AMD doesn't. You picked the "other" family that Intel has a roadmap on, in addition to the X86 roadmap which inlcudes Dothan->Yonah->Merom as opposed to AMD which has none (reportedly, since k10 has been cancelled and AMD has made no mention of any futures).
