Detroit basketball teams play hurt and don't complain. Grant Hill played an entire playoff series for Detroit on a broken ankle and was messed up for 3-years after that, but he still played and didn't complain.
Great teams do that in the NBA. Do you think the Celtics complained about injuries during the 80's? Do you think Larry Bird even once mentioned injuries as an excuse during his career? Toughness is an intangible edge.
Guys like Allen Iverson know how to play through pain. Lebron is pretty good at it also. Then there's guys like Mr. Mini Me, Scotty Pippin. What a wus.
As for Ben Wallace, he was hurt during most of the playoffs last year. Nobody knew it because he doesn't talk about that stuff. That's a Piston tradition going back to the Bad Boys era, of which GM Joe Dumars was an integral part.
