I will check with a chemist from Argon National Labratories this weekendb. He is with a company now that design/builds the casing for baterie cells. He also writes articles for a tech magazine specically for batterie technologies and advances.

Lithium and Cadmium Ion batteries were the norm and he will know what is on the horizon...
