{orders that are filled on the customer's schedule, not Capstone's}

That is only partially true. Completion dates are negotiated.All the orders have to fit in the que in relation to other completion dates. Back log orders can be placed before, or after others in line depending on what CPST has already placed in line and negotiated with the new client. Both have their own schedules going.

{there are no guarantees that all orders will result in production and delivery.}

Although Jamison has reported, there has been a few ocassions in the past that an order has fallen through, they have been very few. Jamison has mentioned before that CPST is much more careful about requiring money up front from clients and giving leaway to only the more trusted clients.

{Capstone Turbines have a poor shelf life due the nature of the air bearing}

That's true, although Jamison didn't mention any specified time limits. That problem is easily solved. Of course CPST can't leave the turbines crated for an indeterminate time on the dock.

The CPST plants have turbine running facilities inside, and a dozen or so outside where I have seen turbines being run and calibrated. CPST would have to determine a maximum time allowable for sitting in inactivity and run any turbines for a particular that have set too long. Apparently, CPST already knows that time limit.

{There is no fundamental reason to produce a high cost product without an invoice.}

I agree, but I don't think that happens, however. Some clients have failed to get funding during the negotiations. Other clients have put the first payment down but couldn't get the final payments in because of the business climate, etc.

Where CPST ran into problems in the past with this sort of thing was where the final product was shipped and the client, having paid partial payments suddenly couldn't come up with the final payments, and CPST was left holding the bag and having to restructure the customers payments.

Again, CPST stated that CPST has become much more careful with some clients, while trusting those clients already proven reliable.

{a steady stream of new orders and product shipping is vital to the Company's continued growth}

Steady might not be the word as some quarters CPST has reported new orders were sometimes "lumpy,"; not always uniformly spaced. But you are correct; new orders and product shipping is vital to the Company's continued growth.
