My contention is that, in almost all of these cases, the companies in question are not worth owning.
If something in a PR is misleading, then it ought to be incumbent upon the company to issue a correction or clarification. When a correction or clarification does not follow, the inference one can draw is that:
1. The company does not care about its communications with investors; or
2. The misstatement was not accidental.
In either case, it’s a good sell signal, IMHO.
