January 10, 2013 – In an opinion piece for the Washington Post, Judge Andrew P. Napolitano—who is also a Fox News Contributor—states that the Second Amendment is the “linchpin of resistance to tyranny” as “it protects the right to shoot tyrants, and it protects the right to shoot at them effectively, with the same instruments they would use upon us.” Napolitano goes on to state that “If the Jews in the Warsaw ghetto had had the firepower and ammunition that the Nazis had, some of Poland might have stayed free and more persons would have survived the Holocaust.”
January 10, 2013 – In an Op-Ed in Forbes magazine, Dr. Lawrence A. Hunter, the chairman of the Revolution 2.0 PAC and author of “My Individual Declaration of Independence from the Fascist Welfare State of America” argues that gun control represents “government’s ability to demand submission of the people.” “Guns are individuals’ own personal nuclear deterrent against their own government gone rogue,” declares Hunter. “Therefore, a heavily armed citizenry is the ultimate deterrent against tyranny.”
January 13, 2013 – Walter Williams—a professor at George Mason University, syndicated columnist, and substitute host for The Rush Limbaugh Show, tells the Daily Caller that most Americans “misunderstand [the] point of the Second Amendment.” “We have the Second Amendment [in order] to allow the American people to protect themselves from the United States Congress—that is, government,” states Williams. He then asks the question, “Are we under any less a threat of tyranny from Washington than we were in 1787?” and responds “No.” Finally, Williams warns, “If push comes to shove, Americans would at least have a means to offer some kind of resistance, as people have done around the world.”
January 17, 2013 — In a bizarre and threatening letter sent to President Barack Obama, the Utah Sheriff's Association makes reference to a package of proposed gun policy reforms from the White House and writes, "We are prepared to trade our lives for the preservation of [the Second Amendment's] traditional interpretation." "As you deliberate, please remember the Founders of this great nation created the Constitution, and its accompanying Bill of Rights, in an effort to protect citizens from all forms of tyrannical subjugation," state the Sheriffs. "We pray the Almighty will guide the People's Representatives collectively."
January 20, 2013 – Speaking to a reporter, freshman Congressman Ted Yoho explains that his constituents do not want him to “give in on anything on gun control” because it is a “birthright” of every American to have “the same equipment as the military to protect them against the tyrannical government.” Representative Yoho adds, “It’s more important today than ever, that we uphold our Second Amendment rights.”
