I didnt get the sense that she was railing against GWB.


I heard a fear of growing govt that despite its huge growth still cant respond to the demands of the people.


I also heard her express the increasing number of calamities that seem insurmountable and impossible for GOVT to handle.

Also a tint of scientific pogress has increased tot he point where we are unable to assess the moral implications quick enough.


I guess different people can hear different messages in the same article.


Your impression is likely as valid as mine but i saw it completely differently.

At some point in every generation people throw up their hands and think that things have changed to much or are moving to fast. Mankind/Womenkind, has a great capacity to adapt to changes, I think that we will adapt to whatever is thrown at us.



I agree we will adapt. But what direction will that adaptation take us?


Increased role of the Govt.



Her point about the Federal Govt taking a ladys home to make a strip mall hit me in the gut.


It is something that ahs been increasing in regularity and is a sign to me of true errorsion of liberty and freedom.
