Unions should mount a PR campaign to educate the public...too many people now take for granted what unions had to fight for - 40/hr work week, 2/wk vacation w/pay, O/T pay, etc. MI voters should not count on recalling their gov or relying on a violation of the Sunshine Law, albeit that's tempting - just see how well all that worked in Wisconsin. The big money boys behind anti-union legislation will not let their pols get thrown out of office - it's too important to them.
What unions should do is mount a serious PR campaign - too many people take for granted what unions had to fight for...a 40/hr work week, (at least) 2/wk vacation w/pay, O/T pay, etc.
WAL-MART is a perfect example of what happens when mgt becomes too strong (read: arrogant). Inspite of negative publicity regarding abuse of their workers, it continues...Union/non-union consumers continue to support/shop at WAL-MART which blows my mind, but does not go unnoticed by those determined to break the back of unions!
