IMS, i think this is what broadwing is all about, the so-called
"next-next-generation" networks that would be asnap
compatible are ims enabled, lucent is making an ims system for
both cingular and sbc

http://www.newtelephony.com/news/5ah1911712.html

ims is realy the missing link for companies like cingular
since sbc is not cellular i guess it would not have the
same impact (as on cingular)

bwng is already has these capibilities imo, its like the
standard was developed to funnel more business to lucent
and NT as if it was new but bwng has been doing this for
over a year now

p2k

the thesis for ASNAP still holds, at the center controling
IMS can be revenue sharing and seamless roaming--at least for
cellular providers like cingular that is, interesting is the
push for WIMAX, guess its best to be forward looking w/
the standard, looks like its pushing DSL which is not going to
make the cable companies happy--more fights more wars but
before the big shake-out seamless roaming w/ wifi, dsl or no
dsl imo

now if only clyw can get its ducks in a row
