But I don't beleive it. Why should Itanium grow 1,000% this year? When do you expect Madison? If it comes in July, give it 3 months to convince the market and you will get only 3 months to sell most of those 25,000 servers. If it comes in September or later than don't count on it.
Another point, by the time Madison comes, the Itanium reputation will be much worse than now, as Itanium II will be trailing Opteron in benchmarks.
More. Developers love when along with a $100k server you can buy a $3k workstation to develop the software on. Itanium doesn't come in affordable and fast workstations with AGP and PCI slots. But I might miss that such thing exists. Link to $3k Itanium desktop anyone?
