I love Las Vegas for a whole lot MORE then just the gambling. Believe me - a WHOLE LOT MORE!! However - it is obvious from your statements that you have never known very many professional gamblers - if any. I could actually make a VERY good living just from my gambling winnings but that would probably turn what I do into work and I choose to just keep it as pure enjoyment - which is exactly what it is. However just (FYI) there are literally THOUSANDS of people just like me who make literally MILLIONS of dollars from gambling in Las Vegas every year - year after year after year. As to those "expenses" that you talk about - well - I hardly EVER have to pay ANY of those. My rooms and almost all of my food and drinks are almost always COMPT!! Have a nice week-end.
