Milo, the numbers were worse than I expected. Today is all about flu "opportunity" in my mind, and may make for a good short term play. But it's like musical chairs... eventually those that play too long get frozen out of a comfy place to sit and enjoy their investment's rewards.

Covering Institutional Long Positions:

I to was amazed at the upward price movement today,
These are the facts, The customer traffic store numbers where down, the Gov't is reducing reimbursement, Rx numbers where down, and the Flu shots will be of little help in this Quarter.
Yet, Walgreens operational costs are fixed and may even be increasing as no corporate layoffs notices have been reported.
Generics Rx's will see a higher net with a lower gross profit, and the generic lipitor has been recalled.

Walgreens is facing Millions in fines from the DEA, including a Major Distribution Center Class 2 RX license maybe lost.
And the Euro investment in Alliance boots, is Facing entitlement reductions, yes Heathcare benefits.
And the Stock price goes up!!!!

You are they Kidding..
