Yeah it wasn't an itch to coach in the NFL that made Monte leave so much as it was all the spread formations that teams are running now!!! I was never able to figure out how playing the safeties 30 yards off the ball was supposed to contain the run game or the short passes down the seams.
His defense couldn't ever get off the field on third downs. When we would get some team in third and twenty I would get real worried that they were going to convert those pretty regular since the safeties would be off and the corners would be too!!!
Hey they fired Chizak from Auborn and I think that he would be a real good fit for the Trojans. Ed Orgeron is the defensive coordinator in title but it was Monte making all the calls. Now either one of these guys would be good because they both have time in the SEC.
Now if Lane would just bite the bullet and hire an offensive coordinator to call the plays from the pressbox I would be one happy dude. He needs to get his nose outta the playbook and be a little more of a head coach.
Wow that was a pretty nice little rant right there so I may have to sit in the Lazy Boy and take a nap to recover!!!! LOL!!!!
