Yeah the money in horse racing is just amazing. They spend it like crazy. Most training bills run $4-$5 K a month per horse. Of course when you race for big money every week, its worth it.
The head state vet of CA LOVED the idea when we talked today, in fact they had already talked about this a month ago at a commission meeting. When I brought up the fact that MMR's PHR is standardized, and that any vet using any EHR or just an old fax machine can upload the info to the PHR, instead of having to have every vet have the same EHR system? Which is impossible? He was excited to hear that.
In addiiton. MMR's patents extend to horses, so any vet using a PHR or EHR? Comes under MMR's patents as well. :) So they might as just well use MMR for their horse PHR.
