Ha, those psoriasis treatments are garbage compared with the promise of Prurisol if it works the same on humans. Like comparing leaches with open heart surgery.

It is not yet proven on humans, that is the fact and why CTIX is around $1, but if it is, it will indeed be a blockbuster and major relief for the sufferers of that nasty condition.

Wikipedia will need some serious updating should the prurisol trial live up to expectations for CTIX.

Psoriasis is a common problem. Most people who develop psoriasis have relatively minor symptoms, but some people have severe debilitating symptoms. Many patients with severe symptoms are only helped marginally by topical treatments and light therapy[PUVA].

Severely affected patients often require immunosupressive therapy which has potentially severe or even fatal side affects such as severe infections and secondary cancers. Methotrexate and monoclonal antibody pharmaeceuticals such as inflximab are examples of these treatments. Infliximab treatments can cost tens of thousands of dollars per year.

IMO a large market exsts for a safe, effective, reasonably priced treatment for psoriasis. Good luck, Farrell

There are many TOXIC treatments for psoriasis. Just look at the list of possible side effects with these drugs (for the more severe cases) and you will see why a less toxic, more effective drug for psoriasis is needed. From the info you posted:

Methotrexate and cyclosporine are immunosuppressant drugs; retinoids are synthetic forms of vitamin A. Patients taking methotrexate are prone to ulcerations. Methotrexate exposure may contribute to post-surgical events.

Immunosuppressants also can allow cancer cells to flourish.

If, and I agree it is an IF, Prurisol works, it is going to have a huge market.
The idea that it may work on other autoimmune diseases is speculative, sure, but logical. The IF is -- IF it works.
