#92309 RE: exoticbiker #92308

Well, I've never once had a problem taking clear pictures with my camera, my GPS works just fine, and the battery life on my phone is better than any other phone I've ever owned. I've also never had an issue surfing the web from my phone (on the rare occasions I feel the need to do so on my phone as opposed to my computer). Understandably, I haven't had any issues because I don't use my phone as my primary method of consumption of web content. Unlike my previous Droid 2, my iPhone sends and receives calls, doesn't randomly crash, and otherwise works as one would expect a smartphone to work. I also don't have to worry whether or not my handset maker and carrier (both) will allow me to download the newest OS update. Since my wife and many of my friends have the iPhone 4, 4s, or 5, I can send them "text messages" without impacting my texting limit imposed by my carrier thanks to iMessage (and it required no action on my part). On top of all that, my phone seamlessly integrates with the rest of my architecture, allowing me to easily synchronize and manage all of my media (music, video, podcasts, et al.). In other words, my smartphone is a "real" smartphone that does all the things a phone-sized mobile device should do, and does it well. It doesn't try to satiate the demands of the minority of technophiles for the sake of claiming to be "bleeding edge."

If your GPS comment is referring to Apple Maps, that's not a function of the GPS but the navigation software Apple put out (which is, admittedly, quite terrible comparatively). The built-in app is a generally easy fix (though, I agree it shouldn't have been included with such terrible "functionality") and can more easily be replaced a handful of navigation apps that perform much better. The iPhone isn't without its faults, but it's not even close to being as bad as the vast majority of poor quality "smart" phones out there. Even at #2 in market share, it maintains a convincing lead over its lesser competitors. You can make all of the subjective arguments you want, but it's an objectively high-quality piece of hardware with a well thought out and easy to use interface.
