They might have personnel issues but I am guessing the real reason for the shutdown was the incredibly poor gold grade of the gravel processed (a tenth of a gram per yard).

During the 3rd quarter of 2012 the Black Rock Canyon Mine mined and processed 16,300 cubic yards of gravel and produced 63 ounces of gold during 167 operating plant hours.

But at least the guys at PCFG have produced some gold. I don't think EXTO/Bayport have gravels even averaging a tenth of a gram/yard. The data they have presented so far is not credible.

I know that company inside out. The numbers were never there, doesn't matter what kind of separation method they tried. Furthermore, they processed waste rock that had even weaker numbers and a series of poor PRs followed that debacle.

Bayport isn't anywhere near that company. So it is more apples vs oranges. We don't even know if Bayport will mine. They have yet to put together a series of PRs that show any timeline.

But that doesn't mean they can't. The truth likely is that they didn't have the capability ever. However they may now. And that means the SP can skyrocket.

Ask yourselves:
Is management honest and reliable?
Does the company act like a small mining company?
Has the company put out PRs and then delivered on the message?

Three "not quites"

But they could start tomorrow, as they do want to make money. They do want to mine. They could figure out that the "shell for multiple businesses" rarely takes off, and they need to devote 100% to developing oil or mining. If that is the case here, then we were lucky to buy under a penny.

Interesting read.

Besides a more detailed assay report, the big news that should be announced by the end of the year will be production in the oil division, if we can trust the timeline most recently announced by Bayport. In April they said we could have oil production by June 30, 2012, but as you pointed out, there is always the likelihood of unforeseen delays.
