Israelis’ overseas financial investments totaled NIS 122.2 billion at the end of August 2005. The Bank of Israel reports that Israelis’ overseas financial investments rose by 0.8%, or NIS 1 billion, compared with July. Israelis’ overseas financial investments totaled NIS 8.2 billion in January-August 2005, an increase of 7.2%. Israelis’ overseas financial investments have grown by 21%, or NIS 21 billion, since 2003.
Israelis’ investment in foreign stocks grew by NIS 5.4 billion in January-August to an all-time high of NIS 47.7 billion. Israelis’ investment in foreign stocks has grown 2.6-fold, or by NIS 30 billion, since 2002.
Israelis’ overseas financial investments include foreign currency deposits in banks, and investment in bonds and in Israeli and foreign stocks traded overseas.
