Not sure. I know etrade usually has you deposit the amount in your account. You can buy with the unsettled cash as long as you hold for the 3 days until it clears and is not considered a free ride then...but buying and then selling before it is cleared may require you to deposit more in your account

switch to a margin account and it wont be an issue

you can fix this by trading in a margin account...keep it to 3 day trades a week and trade your heart out.
