This would be hard to do. The court does not care about the company as a trading stock. The verdict would be called before the company could halt the stock.
Not sure about the trading halt! Yes, it will be halted, but they wont do it until the jury returns, and it might take some time to be put into effect, the guys inside the court room might be able to post the verdict before it gets halted. Last week the judge ruled on laches but it didn't get halted until much later in the day.
