It's like looking at a diamond with its many facets and they are all shiny and polished, but then you come across 3 that are not.

These three facets are rough and black and don't amplify light at all.

Of course, these three black facets are none other than the 3 Amigos and therein lies the incompleteness and the imperfection of the MSLP diamond.
